Business FAQ

How do you find businesses?

Similar to how google has technology that finds websites, we have technology that finds businesses and people.

Are the emails I receive legitimate and from real people?

Yes. We look for insincere requests and filter them out. We aren't perfect though, so you might get an occasional request from people who are just browsing the system.

Why do all the customers' requests I receive look the same?

To make life easier, we've created a set of standard questions for every service type so you'll have all the information you need about a customer's request.

What is the best way to respond to an email?

Click reply in your email client and write back like you would to any other customer. Your message will go straight to the customer.

What should I include in my response?

The more information you can provide the better. If you can provide pricing information, that's great. You should also try to include some information about your business and your availability. This is your pitch so make it good.

Can I include pictures and attachments in my response?

If the attachments or pictures help your pitch, then go for it.

What If I need to provide an onsite estimate?

No problem. Just let the customer know. There are many jobs that require an onsite estimate, so try to schedule a time to meet.

What If I'm getting requests for jobs that I don't do?

You can claim your listing at www.openchime.com/welcome. If you've already claimed your listing you may login at www.openchime.com/login.

How much does OpenChime charge?

OpenChime operates on a commission basis so you only pay if you book a customer. Every business is different so we let you choose a commission you feel is fair. You can read more at www.openchime.com/welcome.

What if I don't want to be a part of the OpenChime network?

Email us at support@openchime.com to be removed from the system.

Can I choose not to respond to quotes?

If you don't respond, you won't get the business, but that's ok someone else will pick it up.

Can I test OpenChime?

Of course you can! OpenChime works great for anything, but we do ask that you request a service outside of your category. For example, if you are a plumber, don't create a fake plumbing request. Instead, try looking for a service you actually might need s.a. a housekeeper, or even a hot air balloon ride.
